To commemorate the 42nd Anniversary, Anniversary Committee of Faculty of Animal Science, Universitas Gadjah Mada, has prepared a series of activities, including the National Workshop on National Synergy of Disadvantaged Areas’ Development Policy: Animal Husbandry as Economic Drive". The workshop held in the Auditorium of the Faculty on November 3, 2011, discussed and resolved various problems amid an effort to increase the role of animal husbandry sector.
Objective of the workshop is to discuss a reference implementation of animal husbandry development in disadvantaged areas. It is also to discuss the role of various parties in the development plan set out in concrete activities from central to regional governments, so that the efficiency and effectiveness in the implementation of development can be achieved.
Yuny Erwanto, S. Pt, MP., Ph.D., a member of faculty of Faculty of Animal Science, explained that the workshop will be preceded by MoU signing between Faculty of Animal Science and Assistant to Deputy Head for Biological Resources, Resource Development Deputy, Ministry for Development of Disadvantaged Regions. It is followed by speeches from several speakers, including the Assistant to the Deputy Head, Director General of Animal Husbandry, Ministry of Agriculture, Dean of Faculty of Animal Science, Director of Vocational Development, Directorate General of Primary and Secondary Education, Ministry of National Education, Head of Animal Husbandry Department of Gunungkidul and lecturers of Faculty of Animal Science, represented by Prof. Dr. Ir. Wihandoyo, M.S. "The workshop is expected to be attended by Heads of Animal Husbandry Departments throughout Yogyakarta, Assistant to Deputy Head of Biological Resources, Deans of UGM Agro-Cluster, as well as lecturers and students of Faculty of Animal Science," Yuny Erwanto said, giving explanation before the workshop on Tuesday (1/11).
