Student Community Service Program
The village of Duwet in Gunungkidul has attracted the attention of five UGM students.
UGM students are teaching children environmental education in Parangkusumo, Yogyakarta’s coastal area.
In the village of Namberan, located in the Karangasem District of Paliyan, Gunung Kidul Regency, there is an incredible natural resource–the thriving melinjo tree, also known as Gnetum gnemon, a native to Southeast Asia. Nearly every household in this village has melinjo trees in their yards.
UGM has deployed 143 students to participate in the Community Service Program (KKN-PPM) for the third period of 2023. These students will assist the Special Region of Yogyakarta government address poverty and stunting-related issues.
A UGM student team conducted a social project to serve the community at the Bina Siwi Orphanage in Yogyakarta. The team sought to change the inclusive perspective of children with disabilities by creating a space for expression through dance and music.
Semuten hamlet, located in Jatimulyo Village, Bantu Regency, is one of the coconut-producing regions.
Jangkang Hamlet in Wedomartani Village, Ngemplak, Sleman, is one of the sugarcane-producing hamlets in Yogyakarta.

Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) is a deadly and contagious viral infection that affects all cloven-hoofed animals, such as cows, buffaloes, pigs, goats, sheep, and even wild animals like elephants and deer.
