UGM students have won an award from Asia-Pacific Model United Nations 2015 in Perth, Australia, from 29 June – 4 July 2015.
UGM received three awards from three categories: Best Delegate for United Nations Development Programme category (equals first place) went to Alwan Hafiz, Honorable Mention for High Level Summit on MDGs category (equals third place) went to Sheila Alifia, and Best Small delegation (overall winner).
Chairman of the UGM delegation, Alwan Hafiz, said the event was joined by over 600 students from Asia-Pacific universities, such as those from Australia, China, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Taiwan.
“Alhamdulilah, UGM has earned three awards and UGM is the first international university that won the overall winner since the AMUNC was first held 21 years ago. Previously, it was always won by Australian universities,” said the Industrial Engineering student on Tuesday (7/7) on campus.
Alwan expressed his pride and delight following their achievements. He hopes to be able to inspire other students to make more achievements in national and international events.
