Someone should not be limited to make outstanding achievements by their disabilities. Eki Waskita Aji has proven this notion. Despite his limited physical abilities, he has always made good academic achievements. And this has sent him to Faculty of Law, Universitas Gadjah Mada.
Eki is one of UGM new students in 2015. The young man born in Sragen, Central Java, 19 years ago, has not grown up like any body else. Eki did feel underpressured when at elementary school due to his different physical appearance. But then he made this to be a drive for him to learn studiously and make good achievements.
“My limited physical abilities have not limited the scope of my dreams,” he said after the welcome ceremony for the new students on Tuesday (18/9) at Grha Sabha Pramana courtyard of UGM. He wants to be a law enforcer in the future.
He was very excited when he learned that he passed the selection at UGM. Moreover, he will study free of charge until he graduates.
“I was very excited to get admitted at UGM,” he said, adding that “My mother makes cakes and sells them.” The earnings are hardly sufficient to make ends meet.
He hopes he will be able to complete his study well and makes his dreams come true.
