Grand Final of the UGM Outstanding Student Award 2016 or Super Camp II will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2016. Towards the final round of the selection, 11 candidates are equipped with a number of training related to public speaking, scientific papers writing, as well as English skills which were conducted on 5, 12, and March 19, and on April 2.
“We are trying to facilitate the candidates with training that is taught by qualified speakers. For public speaking training, for example, we invited Mr. Suryo Baskoro and Mrs. Iva Ariani, Head of Public Relations and Protocol of UGM to deliver the material,” said Muhammad Rizki, chairman of the Super Camp II, Wednesday (6/4).
The eleven finalists of the UGM Outstanding Student Award 2016 are: Alwan Hafiz, Andy Aulia Prahardika, Risqika Edni Doni Achsan, Andreas Gandhi HP, and Hibran S. Maksum, all from Faculty of Engineering. Further, Layung Sekar Sih Wikanthi from the Faculty of Pharmacy, Santika Nindya HW from the Faculty of Economics and Business, Yoesep Budianto from the Faculty of Geography, Lintang Sagoro from the Faculty of Medicine, as well as Rizka Aulia Setiarto and Fety Andrianing Yuliani from Vocational School. Of the eleven candidates will be selected one student of the undergraduate study program and one student of the Vocational School to represent UGM in the Outstanding Student competition at national level.
In the Grand Final, the finalists will present their scientific papers in front of the judges as well as hundreds of audiences in the GSP UGM first Floor. In addition, the event will hold a talk show which invites the Regent of Kulon Progo, Dr. Hasto Ward, Sp.OG (K) and the Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo, as speakers. Not only that, this event will also be enlivened by the appearance of SAKA UGM performance group, UGM Student Choir (PSM), Stand-up Comedy UGM, and booths from various communities and study groups at UGM.
The selection of outstanding students of UGM which is held every year aims to give a boost to the UGM students to continue to excel and have the spirit to produce works that are useful to the nation. “Hopefully, this event will be an inspiration for all UGM students to continue to excel and have real work,” added Rizki.
