The series of events or selections of outstanding students of Universitas Gadjah Mada called SUPER CAMP II were over. Alwan Hafizh (Faculty of Engineering) was elected the Most Outstanding Student of Undergraduate Degree and Rizka Aulia (Vocational School) as the Most Outstanding Student of Vocational School.
Alwan said that he is very grateful to win the award and did not think that he will get the award. “Everyone here is so great, I am proud to be among them, and I am asking for your prayers and support for me to compete at the national level,” said Alwan, Wednesday (13/4).
Director of the Student Affairs directorate, Dr. Senawi, M.P., appreciated the event. He asserted that this year UGM aims to improve the achievements better than the previous year. “I thank profusely to the jury and to the UGM Community of Outstanding Student which has successfully held the Super Camp II. The end of the Super Camp II does not mean our job is finished. We still have a task to send the delegation to the national stage,” he said.
Head of Sub-directorate of Student Creativity , Ahmad Agus Setiawan, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., stressed the importance of a process in the selection of the most outstanding student. The selection process, said Agus, is a very long process and has started since last year. There were many steps, such as the Super Camp I, Scientific Writing training, English language training, and Super Camp II.
“This process will continue to improve in the years to come in order to have the best UGM students who can achieve the best place at the national level,” Agus said.
As in previous years, the best of the outstanding students will represent UGM at the national level. Thus, this year UGM will send Alwan Hafizh and Rizka Aulia as UGM delegates to that event.
