A team from UGM has won first place award in the National Business Plan Competition (NPBC) that last from 21-23 April 2016 at Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY), beating 59 teams from universities across Indonesia. The competition hosted by Management Students Association of UMY was followed by universities, including UGM, Universitas Indonesia, Institut Pertanian Bogor, Telkom University, Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta and so on.
The Dewandaru team from UGM with members Liana Dewi and Jagad Hidayat Jati (Sociology students) and Dion Ferdian Rizaldi (Industrial Engineering) has won first place with socio-innovative business proposal for telecommunication industry, and digital ICT. They carry learning system service based on cyber community or e-community that they named as Dewandaru Learning Society (DLS).
“With this system, participants can learn directly through qualified mentors,” said Dion on Monday (2/5) at Faculty of Engineering UGM.
Dion said DLS helps participants find and start interaction with the right mentors. The mentoring consists of 4 areas, which are skills and personal development, cultural arts, martial arts, and professional academic. DLS is developed in 3 platforms: messenger, e-forum, and e-blogging that become communication media between participants and mentors,” he said.
“These platforms support interaction through short text, long text, voice message, and tutorial video based on participant’s request to mentor. As such, learning is applicative and can be done by both sides easily,” he said.
DLS has three major features: multiple interaction option, rewarding system, and celebrity mentor and official partnership.
The students develop the programme in a smartphone app and website for easy access to users. They hoped this learning service can bring together participants and mentor easily, quickly, and inexpensively. Interaction between the two is also optimised.
“Hopefully, the DLS can help fulfill learning requirement and increase capacity and skills of the young generation of Indonesia,” Liana concluded.
