Bambang Purnomosidi Dwi Putranto, lecturer from STMIK AKAKOM Yogyakarta, has completed his doctoral degree in Electrical Engineering of UGM on Friday (27/5) after defending his dissertation entitled Declarative Query Language Based on Intention, Context, and Commitment for Web Pragmatic System.
Bambang said the pragmatic web still remains an abstract concept which has no completed realisation. He viewed that component of meaning has to be identified and constructed using contextual interaction on the web. A declarative query language is required to accomodate such components, because both sides can only communicate if speaking and understanding the same language.
Therefore, Bambang did the research in order to construct the components of pragmatic web system, making experiment using a scenario. The scenarios are designed using indicators in duty automation and is compared to semantic web.
The result showed that with pragmatic web that is proposed it can handle all scenarios that are made. If using semantic web, it can only handle 1 and 2 skenarios.
Bambang explained the research produced a new method that accommodates intention, context, and commitment in the contextual interaction. Context acommodation can be used for contextual interaction, while commitment acommodation can be used to manage agreement between client and service users. This enables them to manage the state of an interaction.
