As a first step to commemorate the birth of state ideology, Pancasila, on June 1st, UGM will host the Congress of Pancasila. Pancasila is the legacy of the founding fathers. There are three things outlined in the legacy of Trisakti Pancasila. These three things are to be sovereign in the fields of politics, economics must be self-sufficient, and in the cultural field we should have our own personality. Through Trisakti, we hope Indonesian people are able to prosper.
“Lately we feel that the politics is not fully independent, the economy is also no longer self-sufficient, in the field of culture we also experienced remarkable acculturation that is not in accordance with the national identity,” explained by Prof. Sutaryo.
The Congress will begin with a course on the first day. The course was organized to develop the meaning of Pancasila ideology.
