Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) is one of UGM’s programs in order to create UGM as a clean and healthy environment campus. The program is applied in various forms, such as providing campus bicycle. Campus bicycles can create a clean and healthy environment as well as comfort for lectures.
PT. Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI) supports this program by giving grants for campus bicycles. Signing of cooperation and handover of the grant symbolically were done on Saturday (4/6) at the Balairung Hall of UGM by Suprajarto, BNI Vice-President Director, and Rector of UGM, Prof. Ir. Dwikorita Karnawati, M.Sc, Ph.D., witnessed by UGM, and BNI leaders, and Gadjah Mada Gowes cycling community.
Suprajarto in his speech said that the cooperation with UGM is a partnership that has been formed long ago. “I hope this grant can support the sustainability of SHE program which would create a clean and healthy environment for UGM academic community.” In addition, BNI donated a patrol car and a motorcycle.
Suprajarto hopes eventually UGM academic community, especially students, will be accustomed to use bicycle. He added that the campus of UGM is shady, which is suitable for cycling. “If the number of the bicycles that we provide is not sufficient for students, we are ready to give more grants. Students become one of the important factors for the SHE to succeed,” said Suprajarto.
Prof. Dwikorita warmly welcomed the support given by BNI for the Safety, Health, and Environment program. She thanked and appreciated the BNI that have provided hundreds of campus bicycles.
A traditional dance performance by UGM student unit also enlivened the event.
