A team of University of Gadjah Mada (UGM) students has won the Samsung Ideaction competition which was held from 27-28 June 2016 in Jakarta. Members of the team, Regina Venska Ardiana (Industrial Engineering), Bagus Avianto Putra Perdana (Industrial Engineering), and Kristian Sandratama (Computer Sciences) won the first place title for their development of Taskanizer, an application, for event organizers.
Regina said that there were 718 teams from 12 universities in Indonesia who participated in the competition, including ITB, IPB, UGM, and Universitas Brawijaya.
“The best seven teams are given the opportunity to present their idea in the final round. (We were) very happy and proud that UGM won this competition,” she said on Thursday (30/6).
During the competition they offered the idea of Taskanizer, an application to arrange events, for example student’s events, exhibitions, and competitions. This app will help organisers arrange the event starting from preparations to the day of the event itself.
“We accommodate things that are needed during the event with real time schedule that enables organizers to plan alternatives. Users can easily contact the people involved by using their smartphones,” she said.
Regina said their application focuses on real time schedule features, can track locations and broadcast messages. Users can also gets updates on their events.
“Available applications for event organisers are usually focused on the planning but do not deal with the coordination work on the day of the event itself,” she explained.
This app is expected to be able to help users in managing their planned events. “Currently, the Taskanizer is still a prototype. Our target is that in the next few months we will release it in the app store or play store,” she said.
