“UGM became triumphant by winning all championship categories. Last year we made a pretty good achievement, but not as good as this year,” UGM Engineering professor as well as chairman of FSTPT Scientific Committee, Prof. Dr. -Ing. Ahmad Munawar, on Monday (17/10).
According to Prof. Ahmad, this achievement was an evidence that students of UGM had proven themselves as coming from a respectable university, particularly in transportation area.
In this symposium, said Ahmad, there were 354 scientific papers being submitted to the committee. After a review, some 250 papers were selected from 10 selected topics, such as traffic engineering and management, operation and maintenance of transportation systems and infrastructures, design and construction of transportation infrastructures, as well as transportation safety and emergency response.
The symposium was held to bring together researchers, practitioners, public apparatuses, and students to share ideas, experience and research related to the development of transportation sector. This year the theme was “Connecting regions and improving mobility to foster nation’s competitiveness and resilience.”
“This symposium is a good platform for researchers, students, and practitioners in academic or industry sector to share latest developments in transportation area,” said chairman of the symposium, Miftahul Fauziah, Ph.D.
