Students of Universitas Gadjah Mada made another achievement in the Red Cross International Humanitarian Law (IHL) Moot Court Competition.
The competition is divided into two phases, national and international selections.
“The team from Faculty of Law UGM had previously won the championship in the national selection that last from 2-4 December 2016,” said manager and coach assistant, Dipo Bijak, on Monday (6/3).
Not only winning the national competition, the team with members Raissa Yurizzahra, Olivia Natasha, Kusuma Raditya, Julian Martin, and Arinta Pratiwi, also won 2nd Best Written Memoranda Award. Some members of the team also earned individual awards, including 1st Best Oralist Award for Olivia Natasha and 3rd Best Oralist Award for Kusuma Raditya.
Dipo said at the national competition organised at UNIKA Soegijapranata university, UGM were on the better team than teams from other universities in Indonesia. Over 15 universities joined the competition, including Universitas Pelita Harapan, Universitas Katolik Soegijapranata, Universitas Udayana, Universitas Indonesia, and others,
After going through a tight competition, UGM won the International Humanitarian Law (Champion of National Round) contest, making UGM entitled to represent Indonesia in the next round in Hong Kong and compete with teams from Asia and Pacific countries from 8-11 March 2017.
