UGM students succeeded to be the winner in Mini Financial Hackathon (Mini Finhacks) 2017 which was held by Bank Central Asia (BCA) in Yogyakarta. Therefore, they will compete in the final stage of the Finhack 2017 that will be held from August 26 until 27, 2017, in Bogor, West Java.
Before being selected to compete in the final stage, UGM team who consists of three students from Technology Information, Faculty of Engineering, who are Shodiq Jati Premono, Yosef Brian Yudhalaksana, and Luthfan Nur Ubai had to compete with 20 other teams in Mini Finhack Yogyakarta. In the Mini Finhack, all participants were required to do sprint coding.
“In the Mini Finhack, we were challenged to make a simple code and application for finding the closest ATM and Bank BCA and giving direction to go to the location,” said Shodiq.
Shodiq said his team chose a mobile platform by making a mobile application using the android operating system to finish the challenge. After doing sprint coding, the top 5 teams presented their works in front of the juries.

Finhacks 2017 is an annual competition held by BCA as an effort to engage developers and practitioners in technology information sector to collaborate and compete in making an innovation. This year, Finhack makes a concept of Codescape in which the participants are challenged to develop a technology that is able to encourage the banking services to be easier, more secure, and fun for the customer.
