Students of Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences UGM, Alwy Herfian Satriatama, were elected Revolution Industrial 4.0 ambassadors to represent Indonesia to Germany by Office of Presidential Staff. Along with two other students, Rizky Budi Saputro (ITB), and Regia Puspitasari (ITS), who had different specialisations, the three took part in the Hannover Messe event from 23 – 28 April 2018. Hannover Messe is the largest international business exhibition, visited by 225,000 people and 6,500 companies from over 70 countries. The event is organised annually.
“We were assigned to know what was happening in Germany, not just in terms of technology, but also culture and environment they were building,” said Alwy to journalists on Wednesday (9/5) .
Alwy said while in Germany, he gained many experiences and knowledge related to industrial revolution development. The visit was also the realisation of his dream. “One of my dreams since my childhood was to visit Germany,” said the young man from Gunungkidul, Yogyakarta.
Alwy is currently CEO of Majapahitech, a startup under UGM Directorate of Business Development and Incubation and Innovative Academy UGM programme. Majapahitech, said Alwy, operates in technology for hardware category with the main subject of IoT (Internet of Things). He produced apps to resolve problems among companies.
“We have developed Smart Garden, Smart Fish programme, and the recent Smart Health apps,” he said.
Alwy said they built the startup at the end of 2015, having just four members. They followed this up by participating in competitions such as PKM, PIMNAS, and national entrepreneurial competitions with the aim to enrich their experience and collect money.
“In 2017, we started to build the real business and created an efficient innovation for several companies. And in 2018 we already have 20 members,” he said.
Alwy had not expected before that their digital business would bring them to the largest technology trading business event in the world. From Germany, said Alwy, he was more driven to build the business further through technology development.
