UGM Vocational School officially launched a financial information system on Saturday (10/10). Also, at the same time, there was an online seminar entitled “Financial Accountability of Village-Owned Enterprises Performance through Financial Information Systems.”
“We are kindly welcome the financial system as Vocational School’s innovation combined with another system developed by the Ministry of Health. Specifically, for the presented information delivered in real-time and integrated with e-commerce so it can be presented in full version,” said Taufik Madjid, S Sos., M. Si, as Director-General of Development and Empowerment of Village Communities, Ministry of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration.
In this seminar, Taufik explained that during the Covid-19 pandemic and economic recession, the President hoped to stimulate acceleration and economic recovery to the village. Not only that, but Village-Owned Enterprises Performance (BUMDes) itself can guide cooperative parties and other financial institutions to accelerate economic growth.
He also revealed that his party is currently prepared for revitalization in the agricultural sector, such as village barns, which can later be managed by BUMDes. Besides, it also released the regulations on Village-Owned Enterprises Performance (BUMDes) to focus on managing the village economy.
“One day, hopefully, the partnership with UGM will be able to contribute something to villages,” added Taufik.
Some of the parties, namely Faiz Zamzami and Irkham Huda, and their team that successfully developed the Village-Owned Enterprises Performance (BUMDes) financial information, the system was quite well developed by UGM Vocational School lecturers. In his remarks, Faiz, who was also a resource person in the seminar, explained the BUMDes financial information system. The lecturer at DEB SV UGM Public Sector Accounting DIV stated that one of the difficulties confronted by BUMDes is the preparation of financial reports as a form of accountability to stakeholders.
“A team from the UGM Vocational School also developed a website-based and android-based financial information system that is accessible and useful for BUMDes all over Indonesia. Besides, the development aims to make it easier for BUMDes managers,” he explained.
Apart from Faiz and Taufik, the Vocational School Economics and Business Department organized the online seminar also presented by Sri Hardhani, SE, as the Director of BUMDesa Pagerharjo and the Management of the PBI DPP.
He explained the organizational structure at BUMDes, the importance of financial reports for BUMDes, and the difficulties it confronted.
“By financial reporting, BUMDES can define the level of effectiveness, efficiency, and utilization of financial management, as well as a performance evaluation tool or a concrete manifestation of the implementation of the principles of transparency and accountability based on the Village Law,” said Sri.
There were 400 registrants from BUMDes, BUMDes assistants, academics, and local governments from North Sumatra to Manokwari, Papua attended this seminar. The seminar was organized through Webex and a live-streaming Youtube platform.
Dr-.Ing. Agus Maryono, as Dean of the UGM Vocational School, expressed his hope within the seminar occasion. He revealed that this activity could enhance cooperation through student and lecturer internships in consuming or providing knowledge, cooperation for guest lecturers with particular criteria, and developing research, which is also joint research funded by the UGM Vocational School and other partners.
