Ganjar Pranowo, as the Governor of Central Java, encouraged UGM SCS-CEL students to help people in particular regions recover from the impact of the pandemic, especially in the financial sector. Hopefully, through UGM SCS-CEL programs, the students can afford to contribute efforts to revive the financial impact during a pandemic under the Central Java provincial government.
“From this SCS-CEL activity, it reveals that there is student’ involvement in the society’s economic activities,” he said in a webinar entitled Government Strategy and Student Perspectives in Efforts to Revive the Impact of a Pandemic on the Economic Sector recently.
Ganjar said that there are several roles that students can perform as a way to revive social conditions from the pandemic impact, especially in the financial sector. One of them is campaigning for efforts to prevent the transmission of Covid-19. Besides, engaging in start-ups mentoring for youths in Central Java, creating quality new entrepreneurs, and helping MSMEs, especially microeconomics, enter the digital era.
Other potential steps are socialization and community assistance in the MSME, agriculture, and tourism sectors during the reviving economic period due to the pandemic.
“Implementing Thematic SCS-CEL according to the conditions and environmental potential of the local community to dignify economic revival,” he added.
The webinar organized by students of UGM SCS-CEL Unit JT388 in Karanganyar Regency also presented the President of UGM BEM KM 2020, a student, namely M. Sulthan Farras Nans. He delivered a presentation entitled Student Perspectives in Efforts to Revive Pandemic Impacts in the Economic Sector.
