The service of Chronic Disease Management Services in Indonesia has not been optimal. There are still inequalities in the services of the front-line health facility in the center and regional areas. The World Health Organization (WHO) mentioned that these inequalities become an influential factor in determining whether or not health programs’ implementation is successful.
Hence, this problem has brought Dr. Ahmad Muhammad Kasim, S.Kep., M.Kes., as a doctoral student of Medical and Health Sciences, UGM Faculty of Public Health Medicine and Nursing (FKKMK), to conduct research that has a goal to evaluate the interaction between context and its process include how and why there are differences prolanis services in developed areas such as Sleman DIY and regional areas such as East Flores, NTT.
The research results show that the implementation of prolanis services at FKTP in the Sleman DIY district has been conducted based on its technical instructions and effectively achieved the program objectives. In contrast, in East Flores, NTT, health services organized prolanis services to achieve KBK targets assessment.
“FKTP in Sleman always conducts the prolanis service monthly in order to accomplish the quality of service. Thus, Standard Operational Procedure is required,” he said while conducting an open exam Doctoral Program FKKMK UGM online on Tuesday (9/3).
Ahmad also revealed that all parties must improve their coordination and collaboration to prevent chronic disease. This way, there would be optimal services of chronic disease management manifested in health services.
