Community unpreparedness amidst change and globalization will, sooner or later, diminish cultural identity and, therefore, cause social tension that can trigger conflicts between ethnic groups, separatism, national disintegration, primordialism, and exclusivism. Similarly, the unpreparedness of the academic community in facing challenges brought by neo-liberalism has contributed to the diminishing of cultural values of higher education, including academic culture.
Being an entrepreneur is an option. In addition to the talent, being an entrpreneur can be reached through education. This condition would be better if someone with talent equips it with theory and training. "Because, in principle, everyone can become an entrepreneur. They could be students, staff, librarian or anyone else. Because, actually, everything can be learned," said Nurul Indarti, S.E., Sivilokonom, Cand. Character education is now indeed the main issue of education. As part of children moral formation, character education is also expected to be the major foundation in the framework of the nation’s intellectual life. Therefore, instilling the values of character education to students is considered very important in addition to teaching cognitive aspects.
This was revealed in the opening of Character Education Management Development Training for 35 teachers who are representatives of RSBI vocational schools on Thursday (18/11). The training was held in collaboration between LPPM UGM and Department of Youth Education and Sports in the province of Yogyakarta Special Region.
