Rector of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Prof. Ir. Sudjarwadi, M.Eng., Ph.D., received seven delegates of Doctoral School in France at Leadership Meeting Room, UGM Main Office, Thursday (29/4). They were received directly by Rector who was accompanied by Head of Office of International Affairs, Dr. Eng. R. Rachmat A. Sriwijaya, S.T., M.T. The delegates were Veronique Mathelin (Campus French), Didier Vandamme (Aix Marsille University), Ariel Lindner (Inserm Paris Descartes), Gerard Mauco (UTC), Michel Caffarel (Université de Toulouse), Joel Moneger (Institut Droit Dauphine), and Cornelia Marin (UTC).
The visit aimed to review cooperation opportunities that can be made between several universities in France and UGM. Veronique Mathelin, Manager of Campus French for Indonesia, in the occasion offered cooperation in research collaboration, student exchange for doctoral program, and scholarship program with several universities in France.
The Rector welcomed the plan, expecting that the cooperation can improve university’s development and find solution for problem faced by the two institutions. “UGM has 3-in-1 program, getting connected to the world, developing science, and developing the community. With the cooperation, UGM not only develops sciences in local scope but also in international one,†he said.
After meeting the Rector, the delegates also presented their programs to Deans and Heads of Study Program at Multimedia Room. They were received by Senior Vice Rector for Academic, Research and Community Service, Prof. Dr. Retno Sunarminingsih, M.Sc., Apt.
