Yogya (KU)- Rector of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Prof. Ir. Sudjarwadi, M. Eng., Ph.D., received the delegation of Queensland University, Australia, at UGM Main Office, Bulaksumur, Tuesday (4/5). The delegation was led directly by Senior Vice Rector of Academic Affairs, Prof. Debbie Terry, Director of Graduate School, Prof. Zlatko Skrbis, and Dean of Faculty of Architectural Engineering and Information Technology, Prof. Graham Schaffer.
UGM Executive Secretary, Drs. Djoko Moerdiyanto, M. A., said that they discussed several cooperation programs. Apart from lecturers and students exchange, administrative staff exchange will also be made possible.
"Cooperation is not always in academic level. Administrative staff exchange is also possible, because advancement of a university is also supported by the work of the staff,†added Djoko.
According to Djoko, staff exchange is possible to be conducted because the bilateral relation between the two countries is good. Therefore, giving opportunity to administrative staff to share experience with foreign staff will be beneficial for the advancement of the respective universities. He added that the UGM Rector offered Queensland University to cooperate in utilizing resources of the respective countries to overcome various problems in some Indonesian rural areas. “The Rector offered interactive dialog. Various possibilities were discussed together to sustain the environment and improve the prosperity of the rural people, one of those is through the Field Practice (KKN) project,†he ended.
