YOGJA (KU) – As many as 11 students of Faculty of Letters and Social Science, University of Malaya, joined the Outbound Program at Faculty of Geography, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) from 1-28 June 2010. The 11 students accompanied by Head of Geography Department of University of Malaya, Prof. Dr. Khairulmaini Osman Salleh.
Head of Foreign Cooperation Bureau of UGM Faculty of Geography, Dr. Muh. Aris Marfai, M.Sc., said that the Faculty designed the Outbound Program in the form of Summer Course where the Malaysian students can learn the culture and education system here. "This is a form of collaboration in student exchange between the two institutions," Aris said on Friday (4/6). Aris added that during the summer course program, the 11 participants would be given lectures by lecturers from the Faculty of Geography, Social and Political Sciences and Cultural Sciences.
The Summer course was opened with a general lecture by UGM Pofessor in International Relations, Prof. Dr. Mohtar Mas’oed, M.A., discussing ‘Introduction to Indonesia-Malaysia Cooperation’. Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Khairulmaini Osman Salleh delivered the theme on ‘Geographical and Environmental Education in University of Malaya’.
