This year, UGM initiated the double degree program with the Tasmanian Institute of Agriculture Research (TIAR), University of Tasmania, Australia. The signing of cooperation on double degree doctoral education program was conducted by the Rector of UGM, Prof. Ir. Sudjarwadi, M. Eng., Ph.D., witnessed by the Tasmanian Institute of Agriculture Research Director, David Mc. Neil, Dean of Faculty of Agriculture, Prof. Ir. Triwibowo Yuwono PhD, Dean of Faculty of Forestry, Prof. Dr. Ir. Moh. Naiem, M. Agr. Sc and Dean of Animal Science Faculty, Prof. Dr. Ir. Tri Yuwanta, S.U., DEA, Monday (12/7).
Head of International Affairs Office, Dr. Ir. Rachmat Sriwijaya, said that doctoral scholarships will be supported by the funding from cooperation researches between Indonesia and Australia. In addition, this cooperation also initiates the establishment of agrocomplex field double degree program. "Financial support for this program is taken from the cooperation research fund between Australia and Indonesia," he said.
Rachmat explained some faculties which will later join this program, including Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Forestry, Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, and Faculty of Animal Sciences.
