To keep nurturing the commitment of Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences UGM as part of UGM commitment in quality assurance, the annual Internal Academic Quality Audit has been extended to cover finance. This year, the annual program has changed into Internal Quality Audit. Apart from extending the coverage of auditing material, extension has spread to the auditee up to S3 level.
The Internal Quality Audit program in the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences was completed by August 2010 for all S1, S2 and S3 programs. ISO Surveillence of the World Quality Assurance (WQA) phase 3 was completed on 2-3 August 2010 in the form of amendments from ISO9001:2000 to ISO9001:2008. The result of the surveillance, Certificate ISO9001:2008, was received by the Faculty by the end of August 2010.
"All documents related to ISO9001:2008 at faculty and laboratory levels have been transformed into the digital form and can be accessed on: http://pdm-mipa.ugm.ac.id/iso2008," Dean Dr. Chairil Anwar said during the 55th Anniversary of the Faculty on Monday (20/9).
In the Annual Dean’s Report, Chairil Anwar said that the increase of output research is seen alongside the increase in published papers in journals or papers presented in national and international scientific forums. The total number of papers published in journals is 37 with the most journals are from Chemistry Dept. As many as 139 papers have been presented in national and international scientific forums. Mathematics presented 72 titles. "Of all 139 papers presented, 82 have been presented in international forums," he added.
To improve soft-skills, the Faculty supports and encourages various student activities. Financial support in the Faculty has reached some Rp80 million for student routine programs. This excludes the funds for supporting competitions, student dispatch costs and visa/passport fees for Student Exchange.
"In terms of logic area, in 2010, of 121 proposals, 47 proposals have been funded by DIKTI with an amount up to Rp 320 million. Six of them passed and be entered into the Student National Scientific Week in Bali and won 1 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze medals,” the Dean said.
