YOGYAKARTA (KU) – Engineering Career Center (ECC) UGM again holds a free job fair followed by 40 national and multinational companies from 13 to 14 October. In the event at Graha Sabha Pramana, participating companies recruit employees directly, these are BRI, Pamapersada Nusantara, Astra Otopart, Kalimantan Prima Persada, Telkomsel, Sari Husada, Bentoel Prima, PLN, ExxonMobil, Freeport Indonesia, Bank Mandiri, BCA, BNI, etc.
"All applicants who need a job can participate in this free event," Deputy Director of ECC, Deka Isnadi, told reporters at UC Resto, on Thursday (7/10).
Like the previous event, the 7th UGM Career Days at this time does not charge admission to visitors. Previously the visitors were encouraged to view vacancy information at www.ecc.ft.ugm.ac.id. Job seekers who are ECC members can do online application before. "Job seekers who have not registered as members of the ECC can submit a proposal at the location," he said.
He added that ECC UGM receives members from college majoring in any departments outside of UGM because the companies working with ECC require various areas of expertise. Those who have registered as members have greater opportunity to be called for a test because the online application will be submitted directly to the company prior to the event. "ECC Member will also get special access to the Career Days," he said.
Visitors also get the opportunity to obtain information about the company profile and career paths within the company. "Jobseekers can find a company profile by following the company’s presentation," he said.
In the UGM Career Days this time, Deka targets at approximately 13,000 people to come for the event. Previously, the ECC has also succeeded to bring about 13,000 visitors. "The applicants are competing for 1000 vacancies on offer," he added.
Along with this job fair, Taiwan Higher Education Fair will be held, which is the result of cooperation between ECC UGM and Taiwan’s Ministry of Education. At least 36 leading universities from Taiwan are planned to participate in this exhibition. "Through this exhibition, there are opportunities for further study and scholarship in Taiwan," he said.
