Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Gadjah Mada, will hold a two-day International Joint Symposium on 17-18 December at Denpasar, Bali. The symposium is one of international collaborations series initiated by UGM, The University of Tokushima, and Niigata University.
The symposium under theme Oral Health Improvements Promote Quality of Life will present speakers from Rijks University Gronigen (Netherlands), Ninth People Hospital (China), and also Hong Kong University. As many as 48 delegations from Japan will also attend the event.
According to Dr. Ika Dewi Ana, Committee Chairman of the event, the symposium will discuss about educational system in Japan, Indonesia, Netherlands, and Hong Kong particularly in dentistry. Besides, the online edition of Indonesian Journal of Dental Research (The Indonesian J Dent Res) Volume 1 No. 1 and 2 will be also launched. “It is expected that the journal that will be launched (printed edition will be launched on January 2011) will become a portal of dentistry and oral health researches in general. It is because Indonesia has unique problems and local resources to be researched in the field of oral and dental sciences,” she explained on Monday (13/12).
Ika Dewi added that several other activities will also be held, aimed at practitioners, including Hands-on and table clinic to give update technique for practitioners/dentists.
