YOGYAKARTA – UGM 61st Anniversary Sports Week held at the Indoor Tennis Court, 11 to 18 December 2010, went on lively. More than 500 participants consisting of educators and academic staff participated in various sporting events, opened by Chairman of UGM Anniversary Committee, Dr. Ir. Witjaksono, M.Sc., and accompanied by Sports Coordinator, drh. R. Gagak Doni Satria.
Gagak Doni delivered that the current sports week presented some sports games such as tennis, badminton, futsal, table tennis, and chess. All matches attended by participants from among lecturers and academic staff. "In every game a knockout system is applied, more than 500 participants took part in the event," said Gagak on Monday (20/12).
Gagak said the activities are conducted annually in conjunction with the UGM anniversary. In addition to improve the spirit of sportsmanship, the activities also aim to increase sense of togetherness among the UGM lecturers and academic staff. "We wish that sense of togetherness among the UGM lecturers and academic staff can increase through sports," said the lecturer.
For the tennis match, the team from UGM Head Office that were supported by Agus Suprapto, Bambang K. Iriyanta, Agus Tri W., Bambang D.P.A, Vishnu, and Sudarmana won the first prize, followed by Faculty of Medicine in second place, and the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine as well as Faculty of Engineering in third place.
In the badminton category, the first prize was won by Tri Jayaram (SKKK) and Wachid (FIB). Meanwhile, second place was taken by Djendro (Head Office) and Tri Wijanarko (Philosophy) and followed by Dadang (Head Office) and Wirawan (Geography) while Purwoko (FK) and Sugiyanto (Isipol) came third. For women team categories, Tunik (FIB) and Ibu Juari (MIPA) managed to become the champion, followed by Wati (FKH) and Bu Agus as second champion. Meanwhile, Sri Iswari (FIB)/Tari (FTP) and Kristine (MIPA)/Umi Rohayati (FEB) became the third champion. At the above-50 years old category, first winner was Dodi (Pharmacy)/Manto (MIPA), followed by second winner, Mukijo (Head Office)/Sarjiman (Pharmacy). The third rank was occupied by Rahyo (Fisipol)/Eko Susanto (FK), while Hardiyono (MIPA)/Sumarjiono (MIPA) become the fourth champion.
For futsal category, SKKK team managed to become the first winner, followed by Office of University Center, Resident Cemara 5, and Dharma Putra for second, third and fourth champions respectively. In the table tennis category, the first winner was won by Iqbal (BNI). Meanwhile, Agus (Isipol), Agus (Law), and Mustiyar (Pg) came second, third and fourth respectively.
