Yogyakarta- As many as 173 lecturers and academic staff who have retired or even passed away on Wednesday (22/12) were awarded the Purnakaryawan award by UGM. Taking place at Grha Sabha Pramana, 25 Year Loyalty and Satyalancana Karya Satya Awards were also given by the Indonesian Government.
The awards were presented by UGM Rector, Prof. Ir. Sudjarwadi, M.Eng., Ph.D., Senior Vice Rector of Academic, Research and Community Service, Prof. Dr. Retno Sunarminingsih, M.Sc., Apt., Senior Vice Rector of Administrative and Human Resource, Prof. Ainun Na’im, Ph.D., and Vice Rector of Alumni and Business Development, Prof. Ir. Atyanto Dharoko, M.Phil., Ph.D.
In his report, Director of UGM Human Resource Department, Harjadi, S.H., M.M., said that the 173 award recipients of Purnakaryawan consist of 55 lecturers and 123 academic staff. Meanwhile, those who gained 25 Year Loyalty award are 122 people consisting of 65 lecturers and 57 academic staff. The recipients of Satyalancana Karya Satya from the Indonesian government are 81 people consisting of 20 people who have worked and continuously did not get discipline punishment for over 30 years, 37 people who have worked for 20 years, and 24 people who have worked for 10 years. "The award recipients have good performance and continuous dedication and did not get discipline punishment. Besides, we gave the award for their loyalty, dedication, honesty, skill and discipline in conducting their duty as civil servants up to now," Harjadi said.
Harjadi added that UGM also gave incentives as much as 1,250,000 rupiah for purnakaryawan (retired) staff, 500,000 rupiah for 25 Year Loyalty Award recipients, and 200,000 rupiah for Satyalancana Karya Satya recipients. "This is from UGM. Don’t see the amount of money, but the form of appreciation from UGM for your dedication," Harjadi added.
Meanwhile, Prof. Mulyadi, Apt., representing the award recipients expressed thanks for the award. They hoped that in commemorating its 61st anniversary, UGM will gain good achievement. Purnakaryawan in their view does not mean retired. "Purnakaryawan does not necessarily mean ‘retired’ for us. Hopefully, UGM in its 61st anniversary can be better and gain more achievements," Mulyadi said.
The Rector appreciated staff for their performance and time that had been spent in educating the students to become people who give benefit for the nation. The Rector agreed that from time to time, UGM and all academic community will be better than before. "I agree that purnakaryawan doesn’t mean retired. Tomorrow should be better than yesterday. We appreciate your dedication and time spent to educate the students to become people who can give benefits to the nation," the Rector said.
