YOGYAKARTA- UGM and PT.BRI Tbk cooperate in terms of online student tuition payments. A memorandum of cooperation was signed in the Hall of UGM, Wednesday (5/10). The cooperation was conducted by UGM Rector, Prof. Ir. Sudjarwadi, M. Eng., Ph.D., at BRI Director of Business and SMEs, Jarot Kusumayakti, witnessed by officials of UGM and BRI.
The scope of the cooperation covers the management of students’ tuition payments reception through the BRI network service, both for UGM students and prospective students. The BRI service is known as the BRI SPP online service. "Through the network of BRI SPP Online it is expected that students or prospective students and their families can easily make tuition fees payment through the operational office of BRI that exist today," said Jarot in his speech.
Jarot added that in the presence of a vast and real time online operational network, as well as coupled with a highly flexible system, which can be paid by their family, either in cash or over-booking the tuition fees (SPP) can be paid easily, quickly, timely, and in appropriate amount, which will ultimately facilitate the learning process for students. "This partnership is a worthy opportunity considering that UGM is the first and leading university with a very large number of students," Jarot added.
In addition to conduct the cooperation agreements, in the event BRI also provides scholarships to 100 UGM students, with a total budget worth 480 million Rupiah. In addition to the scholarship fund, to support the UGM as a green campus, BRI also provides campus bike assistance as many as 200 units.
The Rector in his speech expresses his acknowledgement and gratitude for the cooperation that has been formed. By the provision of the scholarship from the BRI, UGM scholarships specifically designed for students from poor families will continue to increase. On the occasion, the Rector asserted UGM commitment that will refund some of the funds that have been paid by the underprivileged students, both from the SPP (Student Tuition) and the BOP (Education Operational Fee). "This is because there is an additional quota of scholarship recipients from the government so that hopefully in the weeks there has been results verification of students who will be refunded for the tuition fee and Education Operational Fee," said the Rector.
In relation with the provision of bicycles from BRI, the Rector added that such an action at the same time supports the campus bicycle program. Campus bike program so far has been developed and received good enough response from the students. This was proved by the number of students who forms bicycle groups. "In addition to increase familiarity with the campus community, it is also expected to help local governments to promote an advanced mass transit system like in some countries," said the Rector.
Another form of UGM concern for the campus bike program is to create a bicycle repair shop. In addition, safe zones will be created especially on the crossings around UGM campus that connect the west and east areas. "We make it as comfortable as possible so that the program is running smoothly and productively," he said.
Many valuable experiences from UGM students are written in www.inspirasi.ugm.ac.id site. These experiences are written with the hope that the wisdom in there can be utilized to encourage readers from various backgrounds to become more inspired and eager to develop Indonesia to be more prosperous through a variety of achievements.
