Universitas Gadjah Mada and PT. Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk implement cooperation on Early Recruitment Program (ERP) scholarships and the signing of the UGM Card affinity credit card addendum at UGM Central Office multi media room on Tuesday (22/11). ERP scholarship program is a scholarship given to students who are on their final semester which will then be recruited as BNI bank employees. While UGM card credit card addendum is done in the framework of new variant addition of UGM affinity platinum card.
UGM Rector Prof. Ir. Sudjarwadi, M. Eng., Ph.D., in his speech welcomed the implementation of new cooperation that has existed since a long time with the BNI Bank. Regarding to the early recruitment process of BNI employees candidates through scholarships to the students, the Rector welcomed the program. According to the Rector, the program provides considerable benefits not only for students, but also for both parties.
The Rector proposed that the cardholder is not only educators, but also staff from faculties and alumni of UGM. Moreover, UGM alumni have now reached 270 thousand. The benefits of the card are to finance education at UGM through the CSR activities of PT BNI. "Currently, there are around 150 thousand alumni who have included their addresses and occupations our in electronic databases," he said.
Head of Card Business Division of PT BNI, Wiweko Probojakti, says that specifically UGM Card holders will not be charged with additional costs, thus customers may use the card in a long time. "Holders of this card will not be charged of any additional fees," he said.
While Head of PT BNI Semarang region, Bambang Kuncoro, said that BNI will continue to provide maximum service to the academic society of UGM. In relation with the delivery of ERP scholarship, it aims to get BNI’s prospective employees of best graduates from a college. "Through this program, we can monitor the ability of students as prospective workers who will join BNI. At UGM, the program has already run for the third time," he said.
The scholarship ERP cooperation was signed by the Senior Vice Rector for Education, Research and Community Service, Prof. Dr. Retno Sunarminingsih Sudibyo, M,. Sc., Apt., and Bambang Kuncoro. While the UGM Card affinity credit card addendum agreement was signed by the Vice Rector for Alumni and Business Development, Prof. Ir. Atyanto Dharoko, M. Phil., Ph.D., and Wiweko Probojakti.
