YOGYAKARTA – Three state universities, UGM, UI, and ITB, have opened opportunities for student and lecturer exchange through a tripartite cooperation that has run for seven years. This will enable students to take one semester of study outside their own campus.
After a handover of secretariat office between UGM, UI, and ITB at Gedung Pusat UGM on Wednesday (26/3), Chairman of Tripartite Cooperation of UGM, Prof. Dr. Ir. Danang Parikesit, M.Sc., said that the cooperation could be implemented immediately if supported by Academic Senate to acknowledge the credit units of the other universities. It will also give the chance to students to learn the culture and learning at other institutions. “This year, we would encourage student and lecturer exchange to be agreed upon soon,” he said.
Representative from ITB, Dr. Ibnu Syabri, B.Sc., M.Sc., admitted the difficulties for the three parties to realise the programme.
The secretariat changes office yearly with this year going to UGM. Vice Rector for Research and Community Service of UGM, Prof. Dr. Suratman, M.Sc., apreciated and supported the idea to realise the programme.
