The UGM Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB UGM), through the Center for Poverty Alleviation and Inequality Studies (EQUITAS) under the Department of Economics, organized a workshop on Impact Evaluation Training for Philanthropic Institutions in the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY).
This activity is one of FEB UGM’s commitments to developing activities that socially impact society, the government, and business actors.
The workshop, held on Monday (Apr. 1), is part of the Economic Clinic program, a form of community service aimed at sharing knowledge with DIY philanthropic institutions, especially staff working in the Lazismu Zakat institution.
The workshop featured several speakers from the Department of Economics, namely Dr. Gumilang Aryo Sahadewo, Dr. Wisnu Setiadi Nugroho, Dr. Eny Sulistyaningrum, Dr. Evi Noor Afifah, and Jamilatuzzahro from EQUITAS.
They explained impact evaluation, including change and process evaluation theories, outcome-based planning and budgeting, and methods and examples of impact evaluation practices.
The Coordinator of EQUITAS, Dr. Wisnu Setiadi Nugroho, stated that this training aims to enhance the understanding of impact evaluation among philanthropic institution planners in DIY.
Thus, philanthropic institutions, especially Lazismu in Yogyakarta, can measure the effectiveness of various programs they implement in the future.
This training is not only capable of improving the quality of human resources but is also expected to generate positive social impacts in efforts to achieve sustainable and inclusive development.
“We hope that this activity will make FEB UGM stronger in building networks with strategic partners as a step towards providing excellent education, research, and community service that provide societal impact for society,” Dr. Nugroho expressed.
