The Dean of FEB UGM, Professor Didi Achjari, expressed gratitude for the faculty’s achievements. He sees this achievement as global recognition of the quality of education at FEB UGM. He specifically appreciates the hard work of the academic community.
“This achievement is the result of quality education at FEB UGM in line with the quality standards set by QS,” said Dean Achjari in his statement to reporters on Tuesday (Apr. 23).
The QS WUR rankings by subject are based on five key indicators: academic reputation, employer reputation, citations per scientific paper, productivity and impact index of publications, and international publication collaboration.
“FEB UGM’s success in maintaining quality standards in these five indicators significantly contributes to this achievement,” he explained.
Dean Achjari emphasized that FEB UGM is committed to continuously improving the quality of education, research, and collaboration with various partners in sustainable knowledge development, especially in accounting, management, and economics.
FEB UGM supports and facilitates the development of human resources, especially lecturers, to strengthen the quality of graduates produced and enable them to compete globally. Currently, FEB UGM has 142 lecturers, 28 of whom are professors.
Another effort to improve academic reputation is by adjusting the curriculum to ensure relevance to societal contributions and the needs of the business and industrial sectors. This is done by utilizing the changes resulting from disruptions due to technological advancements and information systems.
Additionally, FEB UGM continues to improve the quality of research and publications through research grants, support for international seminar implementation, and global research and publication collaboration.
FEB UGM provides additional research grant schemes to promote research and publications, including collaborative research grants with partners.
“FEB UGM constantly encourages lecturers and students to contribute their best intellectual efforts with high-quality scholarly work that is beneficial for building thought leadership in their respective fields,” he elaborated.
As an internationally accredited AACSB business school, Dean Achjari mentioned that FEB UGM has a network with partner universities abroad.
This network provides opportunities for FEB UGM students to participate in student exchanges and dual-degree programs at partner universities abroad. FEB UGM has hosted students from various parts of the world.
In terms of producing graduates as future leaders, FEB UGM develops education and learning in an integrated process within and outside the classroom. It also fosters the development of soft skills, career preparation, and student wellness facilities.
“Innovations in learning are also developed to enhance the skills needed for future jobs. We develop teaching innovations so that the graduates can achieve competencies according to the job market’s needs,” Dean Achjari concluded.
