With the vibrant theme “The Allure of Youthful Characters, Crafting the Eminence of the Archipelago,” the UGM Character Festival makes a triumphant return.
Set against the dynamic backdrop of the UGM Sports Building, the 2023 UGM Character Festival unfolds its festivities from December 1-2, 2023.
This edition of the Character Festival boasts a rich lineup of events, spanning insightful talk shows, a character expo, a medley of competitions, and captivating artistic performances.
Dr. Andi Sandi Antonius Tabusassa Tonralipu, the Secretary of Universitas Gadjah Mada, delivered the inaugural address at the 2023 UGM Character Festival.
Dr. Tonralipu emphasized nurturing students into ethically responsible individuals who carry the torch for Indonesia and the global community.
This character development is seen as indispensable in equipping students with the challenges of the professional arena.
“UGM is molding you as students to compete not only within yourselves but also in the broader world as you step into the workforce,” remarked Dr. Tonralipu.
He placed significant emphasis on the responsibility of students to serve as exemplars for their peers and the communities they engage with.
The official commencement was marked with the symbolic Dipta Dakara, a ceremonial procession featuring representatives from various programs under the Subdirectorate of Student Character Development.
This included participants from the Student Entrepreneurship Program (PMW), PIONEER Gadjah Mada, Pelita Gadjah Mada, and Merdeka Entrepreneurship (WMK).
The Character Festival promises a spectrum of activities, encompassing character talk shows, leadership talk shows, entrepreneurship talk shows, and diverse competitions that will draw participation from internal and external students.
Adding to the allure, the Character Festival is set to showcase entertaining performances by students and guest stars.
