The Corps of Employees of Universitas Gadjah Mada (Korpagama) held a gathering event along with the presentation of Retirement Certificates and Solidarity Funds to 15 retired employees on Friday (Apr. 26) at the Korpagama office, Bulaksumur B6.
The General Chair of Korpagama, Professor Ahmadi Priyatmojo, stated that awarding certificates to employees is part of the organization’s vision to enhance performance and manage the welfare of UGM employees, including those who have entered retirement.
“Korpagama is part of the General Leadership unit. We work together because the main vision is to improve the welfare of employees,” said Professor Priyatmojo.
He said that 15 employees from various units and faculties retired this April. Representatives of the university leadership and Korpagama members alternately handed out the retirement certificates. The Solidarity Fund program also serves as a form of appreciation and severance pay for the retiring employees.
The Director of Human Resources at UGM, Professor Suadi, emphasized that UGM will always appreciate employees who have concluded their service. While appreciation for their contribution and dedication is not sufficiently expressed through certificates alone, the Retirement Certificate symbolizes the ongoing bond between UGM and its members.
“On behalf of the university, we apologize if there were any inappropriate words, actions, or decisions during your service. We hope this marks a new and bright beginning for all of us, especially in the month of Syawal,” said Professor Suadi.
As known, besides being responsible for appreciating retired employees, Korpagama also runs various programs in sports, arts, and religion to strengthen the bonds between employees continually.
Activities such as the Korpagama Cup football matches, casual walks, joint cycling events (Gowes Bareng), and religious celebrations like Syawalan and Eid al-Adha are held annually. These activities are expected to continually strengthen the synergy and camaraderie among active and retired employees.
