The UGM Faculty of Cultural Sciences organized Culture Day to strengthen the bonds among educators, non-teaching staff, and students within the faculty. This sports and cultural activity occurs monthly, every Friday in the third week.
Dr. Mimi Savitri, the Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, Cooperation, and Alumni Affairs at the faculty, stated in a press release on Monday (November 20) that Culture Day provides a platform for the faculty community to gather amidst their busy schedules.
It serves as a social gathering and an opportunity for collective participation in regular sports activities. Several sports activities include table tennis, badminton, aerobics, fitness, and a healthy walk.
“Culture Day is filled with music performances, singing, and group sports. Especially for the healthy walk, our students are encouraged to participate,” she explained.
The November 20 Culture Day was opened by the Dean of the UGM Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Professor Setiadi, followed by a group exercise session and complimentary breakfast and juice provided by the committee.
“The event started with participant registration at seven in the morning. After that, there were speeches and the launch of healthy juice for the faculty community. Sports activities and music concluded the event,” she concluded.
