The Master’s in Accounting Program at the UGM Faculty of Economics and Business (MAKSI FEB UGM) has been accredited as excellent by The Institute of Accreditation for Economics, Management, Business, and Accounting Programs (LAMEMBA). The accreditation applies for five years, from April 30, 2024, to April 30, 2029.
Dean of FEB UGM, Professor Didi Achjari, in a statement to journalists on Wednesday (April 3), expressed that this accreditation achievement from LAMEMBA is a prideful accomplishment for FEB UGM. Dean Achjari congratulated the program managers, lecturers, and staff for this achievement.
“Congratulations to MAKSI and all the leaders and professionals for achieving the Excellent accreditation from LAMEMBA. This achievement reflects that the quality of education in this program has been running very well,” Dean Achjari said.
The Secretary of MAKSI FEB UGM, Professor Irwan Taufiq Ritonga, mentioned that this accreditation will help MAKSI FEB UGM maintain the quality of postgraduate accounting education.
“MAKSI FEB UGM will continue to commit to improving the quality of higher accounting education and becoming a thought leader in the accounting field in Indonesia,” Professor Ritonga explained.
MAKSI FEB UGM is the master’s in accounting program offering the most comprehensive concentrations in Indonesia, including public accounting, management accounting, financial accounting, auditing, information systems, and Islamic accounting.
“MAKSI FEB UGM has six concentrations, making us the most comprehensive master’s program in accounting in Indonesia and the only one with an Islamic accounting concentration,” Professor Ritonga stated.
This program has successfully built a strong network both nationally and internationally. Successful collaborations have been established with 24 partners, including 20 partner universities, three domestic institution partners, and one foreign partner university.
One of the strategic collaborations is the Linkage Program, developed to accommodate students’ interests in obtaining academic degrees along with professional certification and accountant competencies (Ak, CA, and CPA) and a Master in Accounting (M.Acc) degree.
Both degrees and designations can be obtained by participating in both programs (PPAk and MAKSI) simultaneously.
Another strategic collaboration program is the MAKSI FEB UGM dual-degree program with the Victoria Graduate School of Business, Victoria University, Australia. Implementing this program aims to address global challenges and the need for graduates with international competencies.
Regarding faculty members, MAKSI FEB UGM has 40 professional teaching staff of 15 professors and 25 Ph.D. holders.
“With the support of these professional teaching staff, it is hoped to strengthen efforts to produce quality accountants and professionals who are ethical and globally competitive,” he concluded.
