“For prospective students who want to dive straight into practical work and obtain an educational degree, SV UGM is the right choice,” he said on Wednesday (Apr. 17).
SV UGM established a Vocational Development Center (VDC) in 2013 to develop and enhance learning. This institution is a trusted information and career development center that prepares skilled graduates for the job market.
SV UGM student Syafira (22) expressed her joy at being accepted at SV UGM, especially in the Property Management and Appraisal program. She found vocational education interesting because it taught practical skills, business communication, and negotiation.
“I didn’t intend to join SV initially; I just focused on getting a degree first. It turned out I got accepted at SV UGM. One of the mandatory courses I like is business communication and negotiation. It’s essential for students in this department, and it is beneficial in preparing students for careers in the professional world,” she explained.
According to Syafira, SV UGM also provides training and certification for competencies provided by certification institutions. She can obtain professional certification from the Indonesian Society of Appraisers for Property Management and Appraisal expertise.
“We are facilitated to take the certification exam,” she said.
The provision of certification and standards possessed by graduates is expected to add value to applied bachelor’s degree graduates. Syafira hopes that SV UGM’s various programs will enhance her skills when entering the workforce.
“What I gain in college can be applied in the workplace later,” she added.
