The UGM Department of Electrical and Information Engineering (DEIE) was founded in 1963 under the Department of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. On 2 March 1967, the Electrical Engineering Program separated itself to accommodate the increasing demand for electrical engineers. The separation date marked the establishment date of the Program.
Each year, our study program welcomes approximately 100 new students through three admission tests, namely SNMPTN (based on achievement), SBMPTN (computer-based university entrance exam), and UGM’s entrance exam. We equip our students with the fundamentals of electrical engineering, enabling them to carry on innovation in power system engineering, signal processing, electronics, biomedical engineering, telecommunications, and computer engineering.
