The Doctoral Program in Economics has 4 concentrations namely Development Economics, Public Economics, Monetary Economics, and International Economics. This program has a normal duration of 8 semesters with a maximum length of 10 semesters, consisting of coursework and research activities (dissertation writing). Graduates of this program get a Dr. (Doctor in Economics) tittle after fulfilling publication and dissertation obligations.

The Doctoral Program in Economics uses research-based learning methods and student-centered learning approaches. Teaching material is sourced from lecturer research results and publications from reputable journals that contain new issues (corruption, poverty, globalization, cryptocurrency, OJK, KPK), data (Big Data, IFLS, experimental data), and new methodologies (micro-macros econometrics, dynamics CGE, time series analysis, fiscal-monetary sector interactions). Thus, students are equipped with expertise in conducting research and synthesizing concepts, developing theories, formulating and simulating policies, knowledge bases and current to support research arguments, discussions, policy formulations, and publications. Various soft skills development packaged in the REACH (Researcher’s Enrichment) Program strengthens the ability of students to think critically, communicate well – verbally and in writing, and be ethical and have high integrity. All lecturers are doctorates and most are professors.

Graduates of this study program have great opportunities for a career as professional economists in a variety of companies and national and multinational financial institutions, as academics and researchers in various state and private universities both nationally and internationally.
