Private Steam Power Plants Contribute to Poor Air Pollution in Greater Jakarta

The Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, stated that the government would shut down privately-owned Steam Power Plants (PLTU) by redirecting the electricity supply from PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN).  This decision is because these PLTUs are suspected of significantly contributing to poor air pollution in the Greater Jakarta area.
