INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR: A ROLE OF VETERINARIAN ON THE GLOBAL HEALTH CHALLENGES

Human health is the most important in human life. It couldn’t be separated from the animal health. Now days there are many diseases come from the animal which is affect on human and animal health. This disease could be divided into five part, there are infectious disease, non infectious disease, zoonotic, food borne disease and trans boundary disease. The impact of the disease has bad effect on many field such as politic, economic and health. It is become worse by some political, economical and social changes which have been occurred rapidly in the last decade and globalization started earlier than the date of understanding among the countries. Therefore, recently the world is still struggling to overcome various diseases that have been threatening the human being all over the world and some of those diseases are potentially as a pandemic threat. These conditions had made high pressure for all countries to anticipate those circumstances immediately, so we need to adapt high quality fundamental, strategic, biotechnology and applied science toward into infectious animal diseases that currently affect on human and animal health. The advantages from the adaptation are advancing veterinary and medical science, enhancing the sustainability of livestock farming, improving animal welfare, protecting the supply and safety of food, also public health and the environment.

In order to facing the issues above, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Universitas Gadjah Mada in collaboration with Faculty of Veterinary Medicine University of Airlangga and Bogor Agriculture Institute will conduct two days International Seminar on:

“A Role of Veterinarian in the Global Health Challenges”
