Established in 1957 as the Department of Public Administration (JIAN), the Department of Public Policy and Management (MKP) is the oldest public administration education institution in Indonesia. In 2010, JIAN was renamed the Department of Public Policy and Management (MKP) in response to the evolving field of public administration and to broaden career opportunities for its graduates.

The Undergraduate Program in Public Policy and Management aims to prepare students with competencies in public policy and management, while fostering sensitivity to the values of justice, accountability, the public interest, and democracy.
