Institute of International Studies (IIS) was established in 2010 as a research arm, publication and advocacy unit under the Department of International Relations Universitas Gadjah Mada. As a department-attached research institution, IIS pursues to develop an understanding of the international issues on a theoretical level and put it on a practical level for the realization of peace and justice. IIS is a home to lecturers, students, academic staffs and researchers of Department of International Relations committed to deepening and employing their expertise in the research, policy advocacy, academic writing and publication, as well as community service activities.
Today, we are writing to inform you of GO SOUTH 2019| The Annual Convention on the Global South: Rethinking International Relations in the Era of Technological Disruption. This convention will take place in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, on 5-6 November 2019. It aims to discuss issues related to the global phenomenon of Industry 4.0 and seeks to explore the dynamics of how technological disruption would challenge the nature of International Relations, particularly from the perspective of the Global South.
We cordially invite senior and junior researchers, lecturers, and students in your institution to submit their paper to be presented at GO SOUTH 2019| The Annual Convention on the Global South. We welcome all contributions related to the following themes: Global Politics and Security, Peace and Conflict Studies, and International Political Economy and Development. The deadline for abstract submission is on May 24th 2019 at 11:59 PM (GMT+7).
