Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) and Rahmat Foundation Indonesia have signed an addendum to their cooperation agreement, making adjustments to several technical aspects of the shelter construction project.
The addendum covers revisions to project stages, implementation timelines, and financing mechanisms. The signing took place on Sunday (Aug. 17) at the UGM Central Office.
UGM Rector Professor Ova Emilia expressed her appreciation and gratitude for the support provided by Rahmat Foundation Indonesia in funding the construction of the “Senior Sharing Space” shelter located within the UGM Wisdom Park complex.
“We would like to extend our gratitude to Rahmat Foundation for their support and concern for the well-being of the UGM academic community,” said Professor Emilia.
President of Rahmat Foundation Indonesia, Rahmat Shah, stated that the addendum was intended to ensure that the project implementation remains aligned with current needs and prevailing regulations.
The agreement also reaffirms the role of PT Karya Sehati Utama as the contractor responsible for the project.
“We hope this will further strengthen the synergy between Rahmat Foundation Indonesia and UGM in providing facilities that benefit both the campus community and the wider public,” said Shah.
In line with this, Professor Emilia expressed hope that the cooperation would serve as a model for collaboration between educational institutions and philanthropic organizations in developing sustainable socio-educational facilities.
The shelter being constructed at UGM’s Wisdom Park will serve as a space for elderly residents to engage in positive activities around the university.
“We want them to stay connected and interact with one another to foster meaningful relationships and positive engagement in their later years,” she concluded.
