Universitas Gadjah Mada’s AIESEC has successfully organized Youth Speak Forum Yogyakarta 2018. The forum consisted of a series of activity, including a seminar, workshop, and Youth Speak Competition. Several expert sources were presented in the forum, namely Septriana Tangkary (Director of Empowerment Informatics), Kevin Liliana (Miss International 2018), and Sayed Muhammad (Founding CEO of Local.co.id). The forum was held on Saturday (5/12) in University Club, UGM.
Board of Advisor of AIESEC UGM, I Made Andi Arsana, who was also present, highly appreciated the event. The event was expected to increase youth’s insight on startup and their social skills. According to Andi, young people in Indonesia have great potential and concern for the country, but there is not enough space for them.
“For that reason, we want to provide as many spaces to the youth as the host in this digital era,” said Andi.
Meanwhile, Septriana hoped that startups can bring a positive contribution to the society. She added that the youth must have a strong personality. According to Septriana, the huge population and all the diversity are expected to work together to build Indonesia. Septriana added that, previously, the development of technology was often done by one hacker, but now there is a hustle that helps in terms of economy.
“Youth Speak Forum becomes a platform for the youth to unite their vision to develop various sectors that exist,” said Septriana.
In addition to the seminar, the participants also attended a workshop focusing on several topics, ranging from digital marketing, product development, and user experience design, presented directly by experts.
