The Japanese for Business and Professional Communication Study Program (Kombispro) focuses on applied Japanese language skills for professional communication in business, industry, and office environments. The practice-oriented curriculum integrates business Japanese, professional communication, translation and interpreting, cross-cultural communication, public relations, marketing, and digital media. The curriculum is designed focusing on learning through practical activities. Students strengthen their competencies and professional readiness through mandatory 1–2 semester industrial internships, student exchange programs, and collaborations with Japanese universities and industry partners. In addition to Japanese language proficiency, students develop intercultural understanding, workplace ethics, interpersonal skills, and adaptability for multicultural work environments.

Graduates earn the Applied Bachelor of Linguistics degree (S.Tr.Li.) and are prepared for global careers as Japanese speakers in Japanese and multinational companies, including roles in HR/GA, public relations, guest relations, marketing, production, translation, interpreting, and other professional communication fields.

  • The curriculum is designed in collaboration with stakeholders through a link-and-match approach between academia and industry to develop business and professional Japanese language competencies aligned with workplace and industry needs. 
  • Industry practitioners and institutional professionals are directly involved as lecturers, guest speakers, mentors, and practical training instructors. 
  • The study program has established networks with several Japanese companies in KIIC, the largest industrial estate in West Java, as well as with companies in other industrial areas and various public and private institutions. 
  • Students undertake industrial internships for 1–2 semesters at Japanese companies and partner institutions. 
  • Students have opportunities to participate in student exchange programs, international collaborative programs, short programs, and scholarship opportunities for further study in Japan and other countries. 
  • Students participate in Factory Visit activities to Japanese companies in Indonesia

Graduates of the Japanese for Business and Professional Communication Study Program (Kombispro), with Japanese language proficiency at JLPT N3, N2, and N1 levels and industrial internship experience, have strong opportunities to intern and be recruited by reputable Japanese companies, as well as pursue careers as:
