Faculty of Economics and Business UGM started the construction of Learning Center for students and lecturers. It is equipped with facilities, such as library, reading room, collection room, discussion room, training room and auditorium. It has eight floors, measuring 6,207.14 meter square in total and will cost Rp44.3 billion to build. The source of funding comprises the internal faculty, university loan and sponsors from Djarum Foundation.
“We would like to express our gratitude to Djarum Foundation that has supported the construction of the building,” said Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Eko Suwardi, Ak., M.Sc., in the groundbreaking event of the building on campus on Monday (21/11).
Vice-Rector for Planning, Finance, and Information System, Dr. Didi Achjari, S.E., Akt., M.Com., congratulated on the start of the construction. “Through a hard process, the iconic and green building can now start to be established. I hoped Faculty of Economics and Business UGM can be the pioneer in green building construction,” he said.
Didi also appreciated the step of the faculty that has started by not relying on the state budget but sponsors.
Laksmi Lestari, Program Associate for Education from Djarum Foundation, said the participation of Djarum Foundation in building the Learning Center was to succeed the human resource development through education. “We realise the importance of advancing education to be able to progress. We see that educational facilities is key to creating not only smart young generation but also one with characters,” she said.
