Two UGM students attended an ASEAN program called The 3rd Advocacy Camp in the Philippines from 26-31 August 2015. Over 50 youths from ASEAN came to the event hosted by the ASEAN Youth Leader’s Association (AYLA) Philippines.
Ridwan (Animal Sciences UGM) and King Amil Hamzah (Faculty of Social and Political Sciences UGM) represent Indonesia with four other young Indonesians.
“In this event we exchange ideas and experiences as well as finding solution to problems affecting the nation,” said Ridwan on Monday (7/9) at UGM.
With the theme ASEAN POV Discover Yourself, Define ASEAN, Ridwan said they discussed the role of the young generation in poverty alleviation, and peace and humanitarian campaigns in ASEAN for the success of Sustainable Development Goals.
“This meeting has given knowledge on the important role for the young generation in building the nation and has inspired the young generation to increase international cooperation,” he said.
