A total of 6,205 participants took the UM UGM CBT in Jakarta. The exams, held at UGM Jakarta Campus on Jalan Saharjo, Tebet, South Jakarta, were attended by 3,719 exact science and technology (saintek) participants and 2,483 social sciences and humanities (soshum) participants.
The Jakarta exams took place over five days, from June 30 to July 4, 2024, involving 17 room supervisors, 16 supervisors, and 31 technical staff.
Dr. Nazrul Effendy, the person in charge of the UM UGM CBT in Jakarta, reported that the test proceeded smoothly according to established SOPs.
“The tests were conducted using tablets and desktop computers provided in auditoriums, computer labs, and classrooms used for UM UGM CBT 2024,” Dr. Effendy explained.
The committee also prepared various facilities, including health services with doctors and nurses, to assist participants experiencing health issues during the test. Additionally, special facilities were provided for participants with disabilities.
“All preparations were made for the smooth conduct of the test, including for participants with special needs, such as low vision and hearing impairments, which the Peduli Difabel assisted,” he said.
Yahya Agung Kuntadi, Deputy Head of the Location, added that the committee had made various technical preparations since April 2024 before the exams, including addressing space capacity due to the increase in UM UGM CBT participants compared to the previous year (2023). He noted that each test session accommodated 625 participants.
Preparations included setting up internet infrastructure and adding six access points to cover all UM UGM CBT rooms. Additionally, additional staff were ready to manage the increased number of participants.
To prevent cheating, Kuntadi said layered checks were implemented from the start. Participants were inspected twice.
“The first inspection was when participants entered the exam building, and the second inspection was when entering the exam room to ensure no tools or items that could be used for cheating,” he explained.
Room supervisors verified each participant’s identity and ensured that only test-related documents and writing tools were on the desks. Supervisors also monitored participants during the exam.
Referano Satria Usman, a participant from SMA Albayan, Anyer, shared his experience taking the UM UGM CBT. He said the exam materials met his expectations.
“It was still consistent with what I studied; the materials were relevant,” he said optimistically.
Usman mentioned that he chose Management as his first choice and Japanese Literature as his second choice. The UM UGM CBT in Jakarta helped ease his financial and time constraints.
“Not everyone can afford to travel to another city. This is quite helpful for managing my time to take the UM UGM CBT close to my home,” Usman said.
Similarly, Nurlan Fakultri Rupiana, a participant from SMA 4 Cibinong, felt helped by the UM UGM CBT in Jakarta because the test location was close to his residence in Cibinong.
Isabel, another participant from SMA Advent, also felt the Jakarta test organization was beneficial.
Isabel had prepared for the UM UGM CBT well in advance by reviewing questions at tutoring centers and home. During the test, she found the exam room facilities comfortable.
“The internet connection was smooth, and the environment was comfortable, making it easy to take the test. The staff were also good and friendly,” she said.
Meanwhile, Raka Putra Kusilo, a participant from Bekasi, expressed happiness and satisfaction with the UM UGM CBT facilities for people with disabilities.
“The facilities provided by the committee were helpful. With the support, I, who have low vision, could take the test independently,” said Kusilo, a graduate of SMA Negeri 6, Lampung Selatan, interested in the Geodesy program.
